Nimonic 101 is enhanced with a greater chromium presence, enabling it to endure considerable resistance to heat corrosion when exposed to sulfur or salt-containing atmospheres. Its resistance to heat corrosion makes Nimonic 101 a reliable solution for a variety of industrial applications, including marine and aircraft engines.

Nimonic 101

Essential details
Nimonic 101 is one of the early nickel-based superalloys developed for the use in gas turbines. In such environments, the material is exposed to a combination of both high temperatures and mechanical loads for a long duration.


Nimonic 101™ is mainly used in gas turbine hot section components, e.g. turbine blades, which are required in marine environments or where low grade sulfur-containing fuels are burnt.
