316/4436 is a substitute for 316L/4432, with higher carbon content and similar corrosion resistance. 316/4436 is an austenitic stainless steel, belonging to the standard series of CrNiMo stainless steel. 316/4436 has the variant with the highest molybdenum content and slightly improved corrosion resistance.

Due to its molybdenum content, the standard austenitic grade of CrNiMo can be used for applications requiring higher corrosion resistance. Their well-balanced material properties make them suitable for manufacturing many products.
